Construction security

Plant, fuel and material protection — net of theft, not net of cost.

The UK construction sector loses an estimated £800m a year to theft, vandalism and arson — and surveys put the share of contractors affected at around 27%. Well-managed construction-site security is, in practice, close to cost-neutral. MANSTOCK supplies CSCS-carded officers, K9 augmentation and a documented Assessment → Deployment → Reporting regime.

What we deliver

Assessment. Deployment. Reporting.

Construction sites change every week. Phasing alters perimeters, deliveries shift access points, and the highest-value plant is rarely the same kit you protected last month. MANSTOCK builds an assignment instruction that is reviewed on every significant phase change — not signed once and forgotten.

Site patrols and intervals — perimeter, gates, plant, materials — are agreed up front and logged in the site book as they happen. Damage, possible issues, incidents and key management are all captured with time, location and officer ID. The result: a defensible audit trail you can hand to your insurer the day something goes wrong.

What we cover

  • Static gatehouse & vehicle check-in
  • Foot & mobile perimeter patrols (Heras & permanent)
  • K9 augmentation for night cover & large footprints
  • Plant, generator and fuel-tank monitoring
  • Lone-worker check-in protocols
  • Deliveries, deliveries-in coordination with site PM
  • Lift-and-shift mobilisation between phases
  • Key management & chain-of-handover

Officer standards

  • SIA licensed, BS 7858 vetted, CSCS-carded where required
  • Site induction against your specific RAMS & PPE policy
  • Construction-aware — recognise the kit, the trades, the cycle
  • Unannounced supervisory inspections to verify performance & welfare
  • Body-worn cameras available where intervention risk is elevated
One trained K9 unit can effectively replace three static security personnel — for sites with extensive boundary length, the cost case writes itself.
Construction security
Process

Assessment → Deployment → Reporting.

Assessment

Site visit, RAMS, phasing plan, plant register. Heras-perimeter walk with the PM.

Deployment

Officers selected, inducted, signed off. Patrol patterns & key management agreed.

Daily reporting

Time-stamped patrol logs, incident reports, photo evidence — through to project office.

Phase review

Adjust the assignment instruction as the site changes — not after the next incident.

Phasing change? New site mobilising?
We can be on the gate inside a week.
